My name is Lucson Guerrier, a Haitian self-taught artist. I began my journey in painting at the age of 17, dedicating my time to artistic research and generating new techniques in intuitive abstract painting. My work seeks to communicate the emotions I feel, creating a visual harmony independent of mimetic fidelity to reality.
I started by reproducing the works of other artists — a fundamental discipline that sharpened my eye. Over time, however, imitation gave way to a deeper calling: the development of my own visual language. Today, my practice moves freely between abstraction, realism, surrealism, and sculpture, driven not by academic rules, but by instinct, emotion, and the spontaneous energy of the creative moment.

Intuitive Abstract Expression
"For most of my canvases, I do what I call intuitive abstract painting. As I paint an element, I see other forms gradually appear. By working with contrast, color, light, and the treatment of the paint, I assign a role to these emerging forms."
Beyond Visible Appearances
My art does not seek to represent the visible appearances of the external world, but rather attempts to offer a contraction of reality or to highlight its 'tears'. My body is often the first 'tool' of expression.
Versatility
While known for my abstract work, I do not limit myself. My portfolio includes pieces closer to Realism and Surrealism, as well as portraits and landscapes. I also work as a sculptor.
From Imitation to Personal Language
My artistic journey began by studying and reproducing the masters — a discipline that built a rigorous foundation. From that foundation, I gradually moved away from reproduction toward a freer, more expressive mode of creation. This evolution reflects a growing movement in Haitian art where creativity is not purely technical, but spiritual, emotional, and deeply spontaneous.
